Peterborough Regional College student Ben Wabe–Smith has been chosen as the winner of a Facebook competition launched by leading manufacturer of showering and hot water solutions, Redring, after receiving 79 votes for his eco-shower design entry the Eco Jungle Shower.
Fully aware of the challenges faced in changing daily behaviour to live ‘greener’ lives, Redring, which is based in Orton Southgate, launched the eco shower Facebook competition last month. It challenged level 3 BTEC National Diploma Art and Design students from Peterborough Regional College to create a new showering concept that tackled this issue.
In order to allow the students creative freedom, the brief provided by Redring was kept loose; the only criteria specified was that the shower should encompass an eco design element. Seven students from the college entered and after a month of voting, Redring’s Facebook community deemed Ben’s Eco Jungle Shower the favourite.
Anna Lovelock, Strategic Alliance Manager at Redring and organiser of the competition comments: “It was great to work with the local students and see all of their innovative ideas for saving water. We want to thank them for taking part and look forward to working with them again in the future.”
