Mixer Showers – Responses From Redring Xpelair

Posted by on July 2nd, 2012

Redring Xpelair Group manufactures three shower brands – Redring, Galaxy and Creda. Its best seller is the Redring Digimix, a digital mixer shower.

Steve Mongan, Head of Marketing at Redring Xpelair Group, said:

What do experienced consumers now expect from their shower?

Redring Xpelair has seen a definite shift towards more design focused showers, with style and looks becoming equally as important as performance. Large shower heads are certainly becoming more popular, and we have seen an uptake in our models that incorporate a large overhead shower and a handset, such as the Redring Digimix.

In fact, the recent Bathroom Report by IPC Southbank found that emanating bathrooms from hotel stays is becoming a huge influence in choosing a new bathroom, and showers are an important part of this. Of course, there still is and always will be a market for lower cost, more basic showers that offer good functionality but are cost effective.

Last year, industry experts believed water efficiency would be the focus for the development of mixer showers. Do you still believe this to be true?

Redring Xpelair firmly believes that water efficiency will be at the heart of mixer shower development. In fact, we have invested in the research and development to ensure that our mixer showers incorporate eco-friendly features. The Digimix has an innovative shutdown feature so you can effectively pause the shower while shampooing or soaping, and restart it without losing the temperature. We have received excellent feedback from customers regarding this, supporting the notion that water saving is becoming an important part of homeowners daily lives.

How do you see the replacement market for showers developing over the next two to three years?

With the tough economy, there is clearly a trend to improve not move, and bathrooms are seen as a valuable space to refresh and modernise. With this in mind, Redring Xpelair is anticipating steady sales over the next few years, particularly in our designer showering range such as the Digimix.

We are anticipating that shower design will continue shifting towards aesthetic showers to fit in with consumers’ desires for luxury bathrooms. Incorporating a great looking shower with technology to save water, two very important features for today’s homeowners, is sure to be a winning combination.
